23rd annual chemluminary awards logo

The 23rd Annual ChemLuminary Awards ceremony will be held virtually during National Chemistry Week (October 17–23, 2021) on Thursday, October 21 at 1 pm Pacific Time. The ceremony will include a keynote address by Mary K. Engelman, recipient of the 2021 Award for Volunteer Service to the American Chemical Society, and presentations of awards given by 18 committees of the Society. This year’s theme, “ACS Volunteers Catalyze Change,” honors the work of our volunteers to continue to improve all people’s lives.

Award-winning Local Sections, Technical Divisions, International Chapters, and Regional Meetings will receive a cash prize and a ChemLuminary award plaque.

The California Section is a finalist for the following ChemLuminary Awards:

  • Outstanding Local Section Industry Event
  • Outstanding Women Chemists Local Section Event
  • Outstanding Performance Awards – Large Size Category
  • Best New Senior Chemists Activity within a Local Section
