United for Success Academy Family Science Night (Oakland) – 02 May 2019
Bryan Balazs and his chemical spectacles returned to UFSA, an Oakland public school whose students are predominantly Hispanic and African-American. UFSA teachers set up several hands-on activities, while Chevron scientists presented their ever-popular slime-making station. Cal ACS volunteers Dan Calef and Alex Madonik were assisted by College of Alameda students as they presented the iodine-clock reaction and compared molecular models to the actual aromas in “Chemistry Makes Scents.”
