Cal ACS at the Solano Stroll 2024
September 8th, 2024 was another great day for public outreach by the California Section at the Solano Stroll. It was the perfect day for making new connections and catching up with old friends. Hundreds of visitors created cyanotype images, examined magnetic fields, and created UV-detecting bracelets, and most of them took home souvenir Periodic Table cards, sticker, pins, and copies of the latest edition of Celebrating Chemistry with more fun activities to try at home.
Special thanks to Charlie Gluchowski and Greti Séquin for help with setup, to Caroline Tsuyuki and Fiona Fotherby for joining us during the morning to midday rush, and to ACS@Berkeley and their enthusiastic student volunteers for their energetic support throughout the afternoon. Michael Cheng joined us mid-afternoon and made sure that packing up went smoothly. We couldn’t do these events without all the great volunteer support!
