American Association of Chemistry Teachers The American Chemical Society has established the American Association of Chemistry Teachers for K-12 teachers of chemistry teachers. AACT will have various resources including lesson plans, strategies, demos, labs and multimedia. A subscription to ChemMatters is included in the membership. Science Coaches for Schools The California Section will help find a grad student or chem professional to be science coach for elementary, middle, and high schools, and the ACS will donate $500 to the school. ACS has two programs to aid high school chemistry teachers: • ACS-Hach High School Chemistry Classroom Grant. ACS will award up to $1,500 for resources, activities, and lab equipment. Applications are accepted between February 1st and April 1st each year. ACS will award up to $1,500 for professional development experiences for high school teachers. Applications are accepted between October 15th and December 15th each year, and applicants are notified by February 28 the next year.
